The last time we went camping as a family was a disaster. Zaya was only a few months old, and it got down to the 40s. It was raining when we set up camp and rained hard alllll night. Our little dog gets so freaked out during storms, and the high winds during the entire night had him on red alert the WHOLE time. The winds were so loud, I couldn't sleep - besides the fact that the kids were both in bed with me, scared and cold and I couldn't wake Robbie to save my life! Oh, and though it rained allll night, our tent stayed perfectly dry - that is, besides the one spot where the rain fly sagged onto the roof of the tent and caused the water to condense on the inside and drip right on my face. all night. It was awful.
So, I think that I am sufficiently prepared this time. Plus, Zay's older and Migo's staying home. OH, but the weather report looks awful. Cold and rainy. :(
Please God - change the forecast!
Good thing Robbie is always prepared for the worst, and super helpful (unless sleeping). And, he's taught Eva all she knows! :D Check out her sweet "tool belt," "just like daddy's."
Oh man, just thinking about camping makes me break out into hives. If the weather were nice, and it wasn't hot and humid, and I wasn't eaten alive by bugs, AND terrified of every noise in the woods at night, then maybe, just MAYBE I would like camping. :P
