No More Lellow

Zaya now tells me every time she needs to go.  "Ooo poo, mama, ooo poo." Or, "peeeeeeeeee," with vehement pointing.  I really need to wrap my head around potty training her soon.  Why are my kids ready to potty train before I'm ready to potty train them? Not complaining, just weird.

Eva now says, "yellow" ... the days of "lellow" seem to have disappeared.

Zaya has the gift of showing love.  She comes to me, daddy, anyone who's given her a minute to warm up, with snuggles and kisses.  She loves to sit on a lap and look at a picture book, especially if it's about cats, dogs or babies.  She is slowly but surely learning to say new words every day.  She understands everything I say and is a good listener, she is just very tentative about trying to say a word, since it seems to come out jumbled up for the first few times.  She is 18 months old now.  My baby.

Eva is a gifted artist, and will spend an entire day coloring with colored pencils or painting with water color.  She is filled with compassion and loves to use this gift to bless others by making cards for anyone she loves.  She also inspires Zaya to color and paint, and I think Zay would otherwise not really care for it. She loves to "read" as well, especially the Richard Scarry books.  She's three and a half next month.  My big girl.

Zaya is already singing in key, and is close to the right word-sounds for songs like Old MacDonald and Twinkle Twinkle.  Eva sings all the words but makes up her own very creative melodies ;D  For all the praise songs I sing all day, any day, my children both refuse to sing along with me and seem stubborn when it comes to learning those words.  This doesn't bother me, because they ask me to sing, and then they will dance.  :D  It's pretty cute.  And weird :D

Eva loves to eat watermelon, jelly beans, fruit snacks and cereal. Zaya loves to eat.  Zaya will eat all of the veggies on her plate first, and beg for more.  Eva will eat all the pasta, and then ask to color.  Zaya loves beans.  Eva loves rice.  Zaya loves chocolate.  Eva loves vanilla.  They both love Dora.  : /

Words Zaya says: thank you (tink-ooh), please, here-ya-go, ball, dog (duck), duck, meow, car, Eva (Ee-ah), more, milk (muck), juice (jew), mama, daddy, ow, ooo poo, peeeeeeee, bath (baff), green (geeeeeeeeeeen), eat, cow, moo, up above the world [so high...] (uppa babba wor), no, mine...  And then there are the 10,000 things she says as "gwee" ...

I think sometimes about what the dynamic will be like for Zaya if, in a few years, God blesses us with more children...  she'll be a middle child.  I think she has just the right disposition for it.

I love being a mom.
