This is why it's a good idea to wait...

First, you should know today hasn't gone well for me. I have been randomly struck by cat allergies after second hand exposure yesterday and the effects have had me sneezing ALL day. My nose is raw and ready to fall off. Also, I attempted to reconcile a broken relationship with someone who once was a close friend, but suddenly cut all ties with me 8 years ago. I think of her often, and for some reason thought today might be a good day to tell her I miss her friendship. ((I have absolutely no idea why she stopped speaking to me in the first place. A few years ago we ran into each other at a mutual friend's wedding and talked the whole time like the old friends we are... but come to find out, she was just being friendly because she didn't want to make a scene at the wedding... when I tried to contact her afterwards, she resumed shunning me.)) I sent her a friend request on FB today, along with the simple message, "I sure do miss our friendship." She responded by reporting me to FB, and I got a hand slap and a warning that if that ever happened again my account would be suspended. ((apparently, if you friend request someone you don't know on FB, that's a big no-no.)) Also, extra whiny kids allllllll day, and lots of mishaps during dinner, so that I didn't get to sit down and eat two bites in a row, let alone warm ones. Geesh. I'm actually looking forward to washing dishes and folding laundry and going to bed. But, I kinda wish there was some Rum in the cupboard above the fridge. Glad there isn't.

and then I heard this song. I cried when I heard it. Maybe the exhaustion of everything today put my emotions at the surface, or maybe they're always there...

... and not to say that I am not completely content with my relationship with The Huz... it's just that he was not my first love, you know? The feelings crooned about in this song are the ones you experience the first time you love. When you have your whole heart to give to someone...

Guard your heart, ladies. Don't play with our hearts, guys. It is possible to have this kind of fire for a lifetime, if you do it right.

this song is better if you change the words, "She's the one" to "He's the one," and "a girl" to "the LORD" :D
